- This watercolor is of the famous bronze sculpture, The Little Mermaid, which sits on a rock along the shore of Copenhagen’s harbor. It represents the main character in Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fairytale of the same name. I was fortunate to get to visit her on my trip to Denmark in 1999. To make it a bit more picturesque, I eliminated the cranes and buildings that are normally in the background across the water.
